OCIA stands for the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults.
(FORMERLY RCIA)OCIA is an adult faith formation process that enables adults who have not received some or all of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation) to enter into the Roman Catholic Church.
Who is it for? Any of the following:-Persons who have never been baptized.-Persons who have been baptized in another Christian faith tradition and are now interested in becoming Catholic.-Persons that were baptized but not raised Catholic.-Persons who have not yet been Confirmed in the Catholic Church.-Persons who simply would like to learn more about their Catholic Faith.OCIA is a process by which one receives an overview of what the Catholic Church believes and what our faith is all about. It gives each person the opportunity to choose to become a full member of the Catholic Faith through the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, & Confirmation)Inquiry Session:Sunday, September 29th at 11:30am St. Clare Hall (Carnevale Center)Wednesday, October 2nd at 7pm in Rm. 203 (Carnevale Center)
Either session is open to anyone who might be thinking about the Catholic Faith.
