We had a wonderful celebration of the
Feast of St. Francis here at St. Mary's.
From a contemplative Transitus,
to a joy-filled school Mass, to a Blessing of the Animals, the Spirit of St. Francis was
blowing through our Parish Family!

U.S. and even global politics seem to get more divisive each
year. How should people with a Franciscan spirit respond? We
will explore the Franciscan approach to responsible citizenship
that invites full engagement in the world for the purpose of
social transformation. Such a stance has implications for the
way we approach both the November elections and political
engagement.
Russ Testa, Director of the Justice, Peace and Integrity of
Creation (JPIC) Office of Holy Name Province will lead our
discussion. Please join us in the Church for a very informative
and timely evening.

our Franciscan community at St. Mary's?

by which adults are formally received into the Roman Catholic
Church.
RCIA is a journey of faith where adults are introduced to the
Church and is the process by which adults who were never
baptized, or were baptized in another Christian tradition or
those who were baptized as Catholics and never received
Confirmation or Eucharist complete their Sacraments of

Faith Direct

As you are probably aware, church attendance during
the summer months tends to drop off as vacations and
weekend sporting events often conflict. On the other hand,
the services we provide within the parish and for the larger
community continue year round, as do their associated
expenses. Thus, your consistent financial support of our
parish is vital to achieving our stewardship mission.
The easiest way to be sure that your gift of treasure reaches
us, even when you can’t be here, is through enrollment in our
electronic offertory program: Faith Direct. If you have not
yet enrolled, please consider doing so this month.

Enroll today!   www.faithdirect.net and use our parish code NJ23.

Thank you in advance for your support and for using Faith Direct!

Here I Am, Lord
Our Diocese is blessed that there has been an increase in
the number of seminarians over the years. Let’s continue
to pray for these men as they concentrate on their studies
and reflect on how they will one day serve our parishes.
They deserve all our support, and one way to show this is
by giving to the Bishop’s Annual Appeal. The Appeal helps
fund the significant financial costs associated with years of
room, board, tuition and other related expenses. Your gift
today helps prepare our seminarians for the future.
For your convienience, you can make an online gift or pledge at
www.2018 appeal.org . May God bless you for your suport!
