St. Teresa of Avila, a Doctor of the Church, offered the above insight in one of her many writings. She can be seen as a slayer of dragons—the dragons of fear, emptiness, loneliness, separation, divorce, illness, confinement, financial struggles, broken relationships, bereavement and any other oppression we may encounter—because her life’s attitude reflected Paul’s teaching, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” If you are fighting a dragon, have the courage, rely on Christ who strengthens you, and call for a Stephen Minister who will walk with you in confidentiality as you confront the dragon and find peace. Feast of St. Teresa, October, 15.

2014 Bishop's Annual Appeal
Many members of our parish have received or will soon receive, a letter from Bishop Serratelli asking you to support the 2014 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. This year’s theme is Be An Ambassador for Christ. One way to fulfill that call is to support the many ministries and services that receive financial support from the Appeal.
Reflect on the gifts that God is constantly giving to each of us and on our gratitude for these gifts, then please give to the Appeal as generously as your means allow.
[When our parish reaches its goal in cash received, 50% of the additional funds received will be returned to us for use in our parish.]
Thank you for your support.
