Drop Off:
Before school starts, the children will line up at the side of the building near the prayer room. I will escort them into the classroom at 8:15. It is very important that the children stay on the sidewalk for safety purposes. The parking lot is very busy in the morning.
On rainy or inclement days, please walk your child to the main entrance of the school.(near the church) Your child will be escorted to our classroom.
Pick Up:
Dismissal is at 11:30 for morning students, and 2:40 for full day students.
Your child will be dismissed to you at our drop off location. If your child goes to after- care, I will bring him/her to the aftercare location.
Please send in a note if your child will be going home with someone else. This is strictly for the safety of your child.

Clothing: Beginning in September, 2013, Pre-Kindergarten students will be required to wear the St.Mary's school uniform.

Please send in a small healthy snack and beverage for your child each day in a lunchbox or a reusable bag clearly labeled with their name. If your child has any food allergies, please let me know right away!

Lunch: (Full Day Students)
You have the option to send lunch from home, or purchase hot lunch. The hot lunch menu is posted on the school website:

Please send a check to school with your child before the first of each month, along with the lunch order form.

Classroom Supplies- Each child will need the following items:
· A backpack
· A folder of their choice for me to send home notices and work. Be sure to check it daily and return it each time your child comes to school.
· One pair of child-safe scissors
· Crayons 16 or 24
· 6 glue sticks and a small bottle of Elmer's glue
· A small plastic supply box
· A picture of your child alone ( for their cubbies)
· Antibacterial or Baby wipes (one box)
· Tissues (one large box)

Please send in a change of "play clothes"  including underwear and socks in a ziploc bag clearly labeled with your child's name.  We also keep extra uniforms in the classroom "just in case!"

Children become ill from time to time, especially if this is their first time in a school setting with other children. If your child is ill, please keep them home to rest and prevent further infection. Please remember that a child has a fever, they must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school. This is a school policy for all students. Please call the office in the morning if your child will be absent.
I try to avoid the spread of germs in the classroom as much as possible. The children wash their hands before and after snack with soapy water. I keep a bottle of antibacterial gel for the children to “squirt” their hands after they sneeze or blow their noses, and the tables are wiped down several times during the day with antibacterial wipes.
Special Situations:
As your child’s teacher, I need to be aware of any special situations that may exist. This includes allergies, medications, special family issues, etc.

Report Cards/ Parent Teacher Conferences
Report cards will be issued twice a year in January and June. Conferences will be held at regularly scheduled dates in the school handbook. Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions regarding your child’s progress.

Birthdays are a very special time in a child’s life and we love to celebrate in class! Please feel free to send in a treat on a day of your choice. Just let me know a few days ahead of time. Cookies, donuts, small cupcakes and, brownies are fine.

I will be happy to pass out invitations if they are for the whole class, or for all the girls or all the boys. Invitations for selected children should be given to the parents outside of class to avoid any “hurt feelings”

We celebrate the following holidays with a class party:
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, End of the Year Celebration
Class parents who are chosen at the beginning of the school year will coordinate these parties with my assistance. Each family will be asked to donate a specific item.
