Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a new school year and pleasurable opportunity to work with your children. To help the year go smoothly I'd like to mention a few important points.

  • All work is to be neatly and carefully done .
  • Each child is responsible to bring home the correct books for homework each night.
  • All homework is expected to be copied down NEATLY AND CAREFULLY in the homework pad when assigned.
  • Homework will be assigned 4 times a week.  These assignments should reasonably take 25-45 minutes.
  • The homework is to be completed neatly and carefully on time, or a deficiency will be sent home for you to sign. Before you sign and return the notice for the next day, please see that the assignment is completed.
  • If three deficiencies are given in any marking period, the matter must be addressed, and a detention will be given.
  • A Test/Quiz Alert sheet is given to the students on Friday for the up-coming week.  It is also posted on the internet under grade 3 Test/Quiz Alert.. This will help to budget time carefully.
  • If your child is absent, please call the school and send in an absent note upon yur child's return to class, explaining the absence.
  • A note should also be sent in to explain any change in routine, such as bus change, doctor appointments, etc,  This is for the safety of your child.
  • Class work, homework, tests, and quizzes should be made up as soon as possible after an absence.
  • If there is an absence. please pick up the work missed in office at 2:40pm.
  • Graded work will be sent home on Tuesdays for your review. Please sign each paper, and make sure that your child brings them back to school on Wednesday.
  • Tests will be announced in advance.  Quizzes and graded class work or homework may be unannounced.  Therefore the children should always be prepared.
  • Extra help is always available after school if someone is having difficulty.

If you have any concerns during the year, please feel free to contact me either by a note or email. Thanks in advance for your continued support----looking forward to a GREAT year!
