“There is Something About St. Mary’s”

We all know that there is something a little bit different about St. Mary’s. For some, it is the warmth of the community and sense of inclusion that many feel, for others it is the liveliness of the parish that is expressed in the liturgies, the music and numerous other activities that are going on. All of it can be tied back to the Franciscan charism that is at the root of what defines St. Mary’s as a parish. Join Fr. Larry Anderson, OFM, Fr, Emmitt Murphy, OFM and Sister Mary Byrnes for an evening where they will share their personal witness of faith, discuss how St. Mary’s is different from the many other parishes they have served and the role this parish has played in their own Franciscan journey. 7:30 to 9:00 PM in Downey Hall.

Discovering the Face of Christ

What did Jesus Christ look like? The face of Jesus is, perhaps, one of the most common images found in art over the last two millennia and yet there is nothing in the Bible or other early Christian writings that says anything about what He looked like. This interactive workshop will examine multiple images of Jesus that portray Him as a healer, teacher, and suffering servant, among many others, and discuss what these images teach us about the person of Christ and what it means for us today. In the Conference Room from 7:30 to 9PM.
