More and more people are using online calendars to plan their lives - what if you could “go online” in a different way: making yourself available to the wisdom of God as a starting point for your personal and professional planning? Sound impossible? People have been doing it for centuries to live to the fullest of joy, peace and service to the world.

2016 Annual Fund
Pray Serve Give
Pray Serve Give

Greetings from St. Mary's!

It's hard to believe that it's September already! I hope you had a great summer.
I am very grateful to all of you for your generosity to the 2016-2017 Annual Fund! So far we have raised $185,609; our goal is $350,000. If you've already made a gift, thanks!

With September comes back to school days! You gift to the annual fund helps support St. Mary's School.

St. Mary's School is a faith-filled community of students, parents, teachers and Franciscan Friars. Our Mission Statement, "Our Mission is to educate the "whole child" spiritually, emotionally, socially and academically through the collaborative efforts of staff and parents whose lives reflect the Gospel message" is a living document and strives to "teach what we believe...live what we teach." Our focus is on faith development, academic excellence and dedication to service. All students are encouraged to share their time and talent by participating in many service projects throughout the year, including the Giving Tree, Peer Tutoring, Birthday Giving Project, Joan's Monarch Wishes, Barktoberfest and many more. Students are immersed in a faith-filled environment and are participants in weekly Liturgy, the Living Rosary, the Living Stations of the Cross, Retreats and Prayer Services. Academically, St. Mary's School strives to identify the unique talents and learning styles of each student. A partnership of parents, teachers, students and administrator exists to support all students.

Saint Mary’s Prayer for Discipleship

Blessed are You, Lord God of all creation,
In Your goodness You have created us,
In Your mercy You have redeemed us,
And in Your every loving Wisdom
You sustain us with your Spirit.
You have given us the gift of faith,
the gift of Saint Mary’s community,
and the gift of Your call to be Your disciples.
We beg You now for the gifts of:
Enlightenment
that through our PRAYER we may know Your holy and true command;
Discipleship
that we may SERVE the needs of the community and not simply our own; and,
Gratitude
that we may give of ourselves for the good of all.
May we discover what is ours to do and
may we do good works each day for the sake of Your Kingdom. Amen.

2016 Bishop’s Annual Appeal - Be Rich in Good Works

Many parishioners have received [or will soon receive] a letter from Bishop Serratelli requesting support for the 2016 Bishop’s Annual Appeal; this year the theme is Be Rich in Good Works.
Four worthy causes are supported: Catholic Charities agencies; Nazareth Village [our diocesan priests’ retirement residence]; our inner-city elementary schools and seminarian education.
Whatever you can do to help these worthy causes will be a great blessing!
